The Regional Manager of the Nigerian Railway Cooperation, East Mr Ola Adeeyinwo has recently exhibited what could best be described as a rare display of faith commitment when he had to go out of his way, walked an extra mile using his good offices to help St Aloysius Parish, Asata Enugu in securing a sizable portion of land for the erection of their church building.

The unavailability of land in the already heavily inhabited area of the metropolis has over the years posed a serious challenge to the young parish. The current Parish Priest, Rev Fr Anthony Mecha, at his taking canonical possession of the parish, however decided to take the bull by the horn and confronted the knotty challenge headlong. “I believed nothing was impossible with God; I felt so confident I would get the solution to this problem without really going far. And in the final analysis, God provided the solution and just presented the right people next door”, stated Fr Mecha, who could not hide his joy.

The Regional Manager who in the company of the District Superintendent of the Cooperation in Enugu, Mr Christian Madza, was led by the parish priest Fr Mecha in a courtesy visit to the Catholic Bishop of Enugu Diocese, His Excellency, Most Rev CVC Onaga at his residence, expressed gratitude to God who decided to use him in such a wonderful way.

A simple man of faith, Mr Adeeyinwo told his Lordship how much he loved the things of God and would always utilize any opportunity that God would place at his disposal to give concrete expression to that faith. An obviously elated Bishop Onaga, who sat for a breakfast with the guest and his entourage, expressed unalloyed gratitude to the regional manager for the kind gesture. He also thanked the district superintendent for the invaluable roles he played in the process.

He prayed for God’s choicest blessings on them and solicited our Lady’s intercession on the guests. He equally made a presentation of the statue of our lady of Fatima to the Regional manager as well as a number of other diocesan publications.
